I moved to Hong Kong with my family in 1995 where I was first exposed to a multi-cultural environment and this gave me the opportunity to learn more about different cultures, new languages and meet friends from different ethnicities. This adjustment also gave me the chance to grow holistically as a person and helped me better interact with other people. Growing up in a big family, I have always looked up to my parents whom I consider my best teachers. They have taught me and my siblings the importance of education and how we should never stop learning each and every day.
After I completed my Bachelors Degree of Media Production from a University, I am a firm believer that effective communication is a vital life skill. I have always engaged in activities that helped develop my confidence and communication skills as I was growing up.
Though my earlier professional career started off in the sales and marketing industry, I have always been passionate about teaching, communicating and public speaking. In the past, I did my part time job to tutor kids who were interested in learning the English language, improve their speaking abilities and develop their confidence through public speaking. Besides, I did volunteer work and provided assistance to teachers to care for kids who were mentally and physically incapacitated. I was also given the opportunity to teach Sunday school classes to young women.
I am so grateful to have been given this privilege to be a part of Maple Tree Education Centre and I look forward to providing our students an interactive, fun and friendly learning environment.
I was born and educated in UK with a Bachelor of Mathematics degree and TEFL Certificate. After my studies, I worked as a professional career coach for four years where I taught students of diverse background and mixed abilities.
My vision is to inspire those I meet to fulfil their potentials and achieve their goals. I believe everyone deserves an equal chance especially with children where their values and confidence are built from a young age.
For me, being in the educational field is more than just a job. Teaching and being able to make a positive impact in each other’s life is what I stand by. Therefore, as an English teacher, I bring huge passion, love and commitment to nurture each child individually.
In my free time, I like to travel, meet new people and learn new things to broaden my horizon!
I am originally from Dallas, Texas in United States. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation Studies at the University of North Texas. During my studies, I volunteered at a non-profit camp for individuals with disabilities. Through this experience, I developed a passion for helping children overcome obstacles that inhibit their ability to grow and succeed in life. I continued to find opportunities to expand my knowledge on child development and interned with an outpatient occupational therapy clinic which gave me the opportunity to work with children in multiple settings. I later began my career working with children with learning disabilities. Through this experience I gained an eagerness to be apart of the learning experience for children. I quickly learned that overcoming communication barriers by adapting to the learning styles of each individual is a critical part of success. I earned my TEFL certification to begin teaching. Through all my previous positions, I have enjoyed helping students reach their full potential and believe that being confident in themselves is the path to success. My goal in the classroom is to foster an environment of support and encouragement.
I am originally from Australia. I hold a Bachelor of Education in English Language Education and a certificate in TESOL. Apart from being an English teacher for more than ten years, I am also an experienced drama teacher, playwright, dance choreographer and an author of children storybooks.

It is my goal to ignite creativity, imagination and a love for the English language in my students through fun and interactive activities. I encourage my students to express their feelings, thoughts, and ideas in creative ways through reading, speaking, writing and drama.
My students love coming to English class because there is never a dull lesson. I make sure they have FUN while they are also LEARNING something interesting. I want my students to grow up with a desire for learning and a passion that will drive them to wherever their dreams may be.
I am from Los Angeles, United States, graduated with a degree in Psychology. During my university years, I was a TA in an elementary school where I started to teach young students. I love interacting with kids and enjoy sharing and talking to parents about the experiences and development of their children. It is great to look at every kid to grow and learn from day to day. As an English teacher, I believe that bringing a creative, positive and enthusiastic environment will help students learn better.
I also believe that every student has the potential to learn, grow and succeed. I like to teach my students that making mistakes are acceptable because there will be more opportunities to learn and make it better the next time. I like to tell the students about their strengths and weaknesses to remind them how great they were on their strengths and also how they need to work on their weaknesses.
In my free time, I like to go hiking, traveling and meeting new people.
I was born in the UK but soon after, moved to Cape Town, South Africa. Here I attended an international school, where I completed the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. I grew up in a multicultural community where I interacted with a diverse range of people. I was involved in countless volunteering opportunities, which is where I discovered my passion for helping others. Naturally, I was drawn to teaching and mentoring activities.
I decided to move to Hong Kong to obtain my Bachelors Degree in Applied Psychology. During my studies, I completed a summer internship at a special needs school in Singapore. Here I collaborated with other passionate teachers in assisting children with various developmental needs.
As a teacher, I aim to create a fun environment, which will foster confidence and personal engagement in class. I hope to bring out each child’s unique potential so that they can grow into successful individuals. More importantly, I wish to inspire a love for learning that will never cease – a hunger for knowledge can take you all over the world.
I am a Native English Teacher from San Francisco, California in the USA and I have been instructing and tutoring English lessons in Asia for nearly 7 years now. I have previously taught in Korea and Vietnam, and look forward to bringing enjoyable and focused lessons to the amazing students of Hong Kong.
After I completed a Bachelors Degree of Graphic Design as well as a degree in Anthropology, I worked in the I.T. and computer field before realizing I would be more suited to helping people around the world learn an important language, I believe having a diverse background will help my English lessons well-rounded and entertaining.
Through my current career, I have taught many different kinds of students at many different ages and skill levels. Whether tutoring 1-on-1 or lecturing to a full classroom, I enjoy all aspects of teaching important subjects to students. I believe keeping lessons fun for kids helps promote knowledge and participation in young minds, especially if the subject is a difficult one. Other than teaching English, I highly enjoy playing and coaching sports, adventuring through travel, and working with computers and technology.
I am very excited to be part of Maple Tree Education Centre and I’m looking forward to teaching many different types of students in the future here in Hong Kong!
I am originally from Portland, Oregon, in the United States. I have earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and a TEFL certificate. Additionally, I have experience as a private English tutor and a Native English Teacher.
I am also a proud father of a primary school-aged child whom I have taught English to since he was an infant. Over the years, I have seen the improvements in his reading and writing skills and it is extremely gratifying. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to become a Native English Teacher in the first place, so that I can share that same kind of joy with other parents.
During class, I like to teach in a fun and interactive way so that students can have an enjoyable experience. Learning through a communicative approach will help to solidify their English skills as they continue to improve every day. As a parent, I know the importance of education, and every parent wants to see their child be successful. Thus, I want to be that light to inspire, motivate, and build confidence in the kids as well as creating a positive learning environment where they can thrive.
Australia is a country filled with diverse cultures; the years I spent in Melbourne had widened my horizon, exposed to different nationalities and also completed a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science.
After graduating from university, I decided to pursue a profession in English teaching as I have always loved to teach and share my experience with others. I taught children Mathematics and English in an Education Centre for a while until I decided to obtain a TESOL qualification to develop my career in teaching further.
I realized teaching is more than just a job, especially with children, receiving good quality and impactful education shapes their personality as well. I would love to continue spreading the love and passion for teaching in the future.
